General Informations[]

The Database panel gives you direct access to the data stored in TCE.

First you have to choose what kind of data you want to access. The four Databases are displayed at the top of the panel (Star Systems / Trade Markets / Locations / Commodities).

Select the Database that matches the type of data you would like to access. The Database is now locked and awaits further instructions from three Operations buttons (New Entry / Modify Entry / Delete Entry). To select another database, click the previous database button again to close the editing screen before selecting another database.

NEW ENTRY: Add new data to the Database. All required fields have a preceding status bar which defaults to red, but will turn green when the data entered in the field was accepted by TCE.

MODIFY ENTRY: Change the data of an already-stored entry at the Database.

DELETE ENTRY: Remove a stored entry from the Database.

After you select an Operation (New Entry / Modify Entry / Delete Entry), the other buttons will lock. If you would like to change to a different Operation, click the selected Operation button again to exit the mode.

In order for the data to be accepted, you have to hit the ENTER KEY after you have finished inputting data!

If all status bars are green, you are ready to store the entry. A SAVE button appears next to the HIDE button at the top-right of the panel.

Star System Database[]

DB1

This Database contains all known star systems for TCE.

Star systems got normally added automatically upon the approach of an unknown star system in game. They got also automatically updated when you enter the star system. But the sheer number of star system has made it necessary to edit star systems, because they may have changed in game and you don't like to have ghost star systems.

Star System Name: When adding a new star system manually, you have to give it name. If you enter name and the bar to the side stays red, most likely the star is already in the system. This can be verified by attempting to edit the star. When you want to modify or delete a star system, enter the name of the star system. After you have entered at least two character, a list of all star systems containing these character are displayed. With each additional character, the list become more precise. If you see the name of the star system, click at it and the name is now overtaken into the field and the list vanishes.

X / Y / Z Cordinates: Each star system have an own set of coordinates into space. Enter the coordinates into the fields one by one. When adding a new star system, TCE checks, if the coordinates are used by another star system in Database (e.g. Sol [0/0/0], because no two star system can share the same coordinates. In this case, the colored bar infront of the field is shown in red. If the entered coordinates are valid, the colored bar will turn green.

State Of Knowledge: There are four states of knowledge for star systems:

  • No Data (not visited yet)
  • Visited (you have entered the star system once)
  • Scanned (you know about stations, suns and planets are in the system, but no details about suns and planets)
  • Explored (you know everything about the star system)

Star Class: There are many different star classes out in the universe. Select one so TCE can determine, if fuel scooping would be possible.

Population: There are many populated worlds out there. Here you can enter the number of population of a star system.

Powerplay Influence: If you have yourself assigned to a power in powerplay, you can select the power, which has the most influence on the star system.

Allegiance: There are some superpowers, which consider the star system belongs to their control. Select a superpower, which have control over the star system.

Controlling Faction: The name of the faction, which has most control of the star system.

Controlling Faction State: The actual state of the controlling faction party.

Government: The government type of the star system.

Economy: The primary economy type of the star system.

Security: The security state of the star system, higher meaning more patrolling vessels from the government side.

Trade Markets Database[]

DB2

This Database contains all trade stations in space and on planets, you can dock.

Trade Markets got normally added automatically upon the approach of a station in game. They got also automatically updated when you docked at the station. But the sheer number of stations has made it necessary to edit trade markets, because they may have changed in game and you don't like to have ghost trade markets.

Note that manually adding a market will not fill the market with commodity price data. The market data will be updated with a database update at the TCE launcher if the system is within the range of included systems.

Trade Market Name: When adding a new trade market manually, you have to give it name. When you modify or delete a trade market, you have to enter the name of the trade market, you want to modify or delete. After you have entered at least two character, a list of all trade markets containing these character are displayed and the star system name, where they reside. With each additional character, the list become more precise. If you see the name of the trade market, click at it and the name is now overtaken into the field and the list vanishes.

Visits: Here you can enter the number of visits for the trade market.

Star System Name: You enter here the star system name, where the trade market reside. After you have entered at least two character, a list of all star systems containing these character are displayed. With each additional character, the list become more precise. If you see the name of the star system, click at it and the name is now overtaken into the field and the list vanishes.

Sector ID: The sector ID is an internal identifier, where the trade market is positioned within a star system. The ID is not shown by the game, but got automatically updated and identified when you first dock at the trade market. If you don't know about the proper ID of a trade market, set it to 0 (zero), which tells TCE to update the value with the next visit.

Trade Market Type: There are various forms of different trade markets out there, here you could define it, so it is clear, how big the landing pads are and if the trade market is space- or planetary-based, which is important for some other data fields, explained below.

Distance: This is the distance from primary star in light seconds. This value is later important to be defined as a filter for route finding purposes.

Primary / Secondary Economy: Each trade market can have one or two economy types, you can select here. If a trade market has no commodity market, select NONE.

Rare Commodity Available: Some trade markets offering special, rare commodities, buyable only here. Select the rare commodity, which the trade market offers.

Station Service Icons: There represents the available services at the trade market. By clicking onto them, you can deactivate or activate the service. Each icon have a tooltip to be clear, what service is attached to what icon.

Allegiance: There are some superpowers, which consider the trade market belongs to their control. Select a superpower, which have control over the trade market.

Controlling Faction: The name of the faction, which has most control of the trade market.

Controlling Faction State: The actual state of the controlling faction party.

Government: The government type of the trade market.

Planet Name: This field is only visible, if you have selected a planetary-based station type of the trade market. Here you have to enter the planet name, where the trade market resides.

Radius: Here you have to enter the radius of the planet, where the trade market resides in kilometer. This is important for a precise planetary navigation to find the location at the planet.

Latitude: Enter the latitude coordinate into this field for the trade market. Latitude ranges from -90° to 90°.

Longitude: Enter the longitude coordinate into this field for the trade market. Longitude ranges from -180° to 180°.

Locations Database[]

DB3

This Database contains all interesting locations in the universe you can came across.

Locations have to added always manually, by being actually there or you have heard about an interesting spot from others. Add them here, so you can find them later on.

Some fields containing a button, showing an arrow down on a spot. These button, called location button, will help you to fill out the data fields with precise actual data from the game. They are only usable, if you are currently at the location!

Location Name: When adding a new location, you have to give it name. When you modify or delete a location, you have to enter the name of the location, you want to modify or delete. After you have entered at least two character, a list of all locations containing these character are displayed and the star system name, where they reside. With each additional character, the list become more precise. If you see the name of the location, click at it and the name is now overtaken into the field and the list vanishes.

Visits: Here you can enter the number of visits for the location.

Star System Name: You enter here the star system name, where the location reside. After you have entered at least two character, a list of all star systems containing these character are displayed. With each additional character, the list become more precise. If you see the name of the star system, click at it and the name is now overtaken into the field and the list vanishes. A location button is present, so if you are currently in game at the location, click the button to autofill the data field automatically.
